Inspiring Stories

ONE
==========

Once,A 'devotee' wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to the Temple .

'I've gone for 30 years now, he wrote, and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 mantras. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the Gurus are wasting theirs by giving services at all.

This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor.

It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000
meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of
those meals. But I do know this..

. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work.

If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.

Likewise, if I had not gone to the Temple for nourishment, I would be spiritually

dead today!

When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees

the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!

Once someone came to Buddha and started abusing him. He went on and on, abuse after abuse in a loud voice. He kept looking at Buddha for a reaction, but Buddha was as he was - calm, serene, smiling.

This further agitated him and he hurled more abuses. Buddha again was calm, serene, smiling, looking more peaceful than ever. Then this person stopped for a moment. and said, "I have been going on and on, abusing you, but there is no reaction from your side. You remain in peace. How come!?!"

Now Buddha finally spoke: "It is like if someone offers you sweets, what would you do?". The man replied, "Well, I like sweets so I would eat them and enjoy them".
Buddha continued, "Okay, now if someone offered you something bitter, what would you do?".

The man replied quickly, "Ofcourse, I would not accept it, I would return it to the

one who has given it."

Buddha said, "So I choose not to accept your abuses, you may take them

back".
At this, the man realised the wisdom and greatness of Buddha

PERSEVERANCE-THREE
=========================

The whole Magic of Kriya Success is in Perseverance. Perseverance means building foundation, sacrifice gratification , Strengths endurance and Progress, assures results.

For Eg: The Chinese bamboo plant is unique in nature. When the bamboo seed is laid and watered daily, one could find no improvement till 4 years. But all of a sudden, the tree rises to 90mtrs. Do the efforts we put in for the plant's upbringing for four years were gone in vain? No, They have laid a strong foundation in the first four years.

It took 20 years approx to build the taj mahal. They (Critics) are only setting a tent and calling it a settlement. Stay strong

Morale: The same applies with our practise, So it’s the perseverance that

counts. To continue in practise irrespective of failures.

2..A person has broken a stone with 10 blows will that implies all the 9

blows were in vain. All these nine blow added strength to one after

another.

Morale: Every effort is accountable

Two Buddhist monks on reaching the bank of a stream found that an adolescent girl was standing there looking for some help as the flow of the stream was fast and she was apprehensive of crossing it on her own. The monk wanted to help her but were hesitant as they were trained not to touch a girl lest that might instigate any carnal feelings in them.

Then finally one of the monk offered his help and carried the girl on his shoulder through the stream. The girl thanked the monk and went her way. As the monks moved forward the other monk started accusing that by doing so this monk has broken his monkhood ideals and he will go to hell for this. That he had polluted himself and should do something worthwhile in order to purge himself of this sin undertaken by him.

Then finally after this went on for considerable amount of time the monk(who was the apparent sinner) very calmly said,
" Brother I carried the girl and then left her a long time back at the bank of the river. But you seem to carry her even now!!!"
