All human actions are motivated at their deepest level by one of two emotions - fear or love. [to avoid pain or wanting pleasure ] These are the opposite ends of the great polarity in human experience.
Every human thought and every human action is based either in love or fear. All other human motivations and ideas are derivatives of one of these two emotions. The initial or the sponsoring thought is either of love or of fear. Human experience oscillates between love and fear, taking the form of other derivatives in between.
The cardinal Virtues according to Hinduism
Purity- Sattva, Suddhi
Self Control -Sama/Dama
Detachment - Vairagya
Truth - Satyam
Non Violence - Ahimsa
