According to Dunn and Norton, recent research on happiness suggests that the most satisfying way of using money is to invest in others.

Wealth is a relative term.Uncertainties in life remain regardless of how much money and things we possess.Norton’s research also indicates that the assumption people make about more money leading to more happiness is simply wrong. “Wealthy individuals–whether worth $1 million or $10 million–are not happier as their wealth increases,” according to Norton. In fact, it’s possible that adding money to money may actually lead to experiencing less happiness.Money does decrease sadness but decreased sadness doesn't lead to happiness.

$ Studies show you’ll get more contentment from putting cash toward experiences (like vacations) than material things (like a new TV).

$ Spending on other people actually generates more happiness than splurging on yourself.

$ Likewise, budgeting time to build social connections is a smarter happiness “investment” than making and spending money, research suggests.

$ Lending out possessions can help you enjoy them more once you get them back [ yee books & money mostly don't come back...hahaha ]

$ It’s best not to focus on money too much. While making more of it might have benefits, but obsessing over it stops you from savoring many important aspects of your life.

Difference between competitive exam & College exam ....

In college exams

Question:  How many balls are there in an over?

 Answer: 6

Full Marks

If this was a PROFESSIONAL Exam question

The answer would be WRONG and the examiner’s comment in the suggested answers would be

“Most of the students answered the questions. However, students have not understood the questions correctly. Answer points to a lack of in-depth understanding and conceptual clarity on the subject. Correct answer is 1 ball which is delivered 6 times, if the umpire(as defined under bye law 19 of Rule 2) did not declare any no ball in all those deliveries.

In case the umpire, as defined above, declares a No Ball as defined in the Byelaws 24 Rule 3 of the Laws of Cricket (Lords), then there will be an additional ball delivered, using the same ball, for every no ball declared by the umpire.

Note that such additional balls will not be counted towards the number of balls”.

Similarly for a wide ball under Byelaw 25 Rule 3 of the Laws of Cricket (Lords) an additional ball will be delivered for every wide ball declared by the umpire.

Thus keeping in view the Rules 19, 24 25 of the Laws of Cricket(Lords) the answer is 1 ball.

However, if the ball used for the said deliveries suffers or undergoes such transformation or such other changes which, the umpire, on an appeal being made by the bowler, deems unfit for use, the ball may be changed/replaced with another one. Only in such a case, will there be use of multiple balls in an over.

(The student may assume that the batsmen did not hit a sixer, thereby forcing the ball to go out of the park causing another ball to be used )

Hedonic treadmill, also known as hedonic adaptation, is the observed tendency of humans to quickly return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major positive or negative events or life changes. According to this theory, as a person makes more money, expectations and desires rise in tandem, which results in no permanent gain in happiness.

Everything Eventually gets back to the base line of Emotions

In Life, Come what may ....you will eventually learn dealing with it

# Objective circumstance do not bring Happieness...

what is objective & subjective ?

- -> Subjective -->  how u look at something /outlook/ ur attitude -->  Happiness
-
--> Objective --> THING... object..something  @ can givehere today gone tomorrow type of happiness

* Headey (2008) concluded that an internal locus of control and having "positive" personality traits (notably low neuroticism) are the two most significant factors affecting one's subjective well-being.

* Headey also found that adopting "non-zero sum" goals, those which enrich one's relationships with others and with society as a whole (i.e. family-oriented and altruistic goals), increase the level of subjective well-being.

Conversely, attaching importance to zero-sum life goals (career success, wealth, and social status) will have a small but nevertheless statistically significant negative impact on people's overall subjective well-being (even though the size of a household's disposable income does have a small, positive impact on subjective well-being). Duration of one's education seems to have no direct bearing on life satisfaction

[ Non-zero-sum Means.. a situation in which the interacting parties' aggregate gains and losses is either less than or more than zero ]

" Research says consciously recognizing the emotions reduced their impact "
  • Describe an emotion in just a word or two, and it helps reduce the emotion
  •  Brain science shows that making decisions reduces worry and anxiety — as well as helping you solve problems.

  • Trying to be perfect overwhelms your brain with emotions and makes you feel out of control. In contrast, recognizing that good enough is good enough activates more dorsolateral prefrontal areas, which helps you feel more in control …[ public administration's satisficing model of decision-making by Simon..he he hee ]
    • Then you make a decision on a goal and then achieve it, you feel better than when good stuff just happens by chance.
And this answers the eternal mystery of why dragging your butt to the gym can be so hard.

If you go because you feel you have to or you should, well, it's not really a voluntary decision. Your brain doesn't get the pleasure boost. It just feels stress. And that's no way to build a good exercise habit.Interestingly, if they are forced to exercise, they don't get the same benefits, because without choice, the exercise itself is a source of stress.
    • A hug, especially a long one, releases a neurotransmitter and hormone oxytocin, which reduces the reactivity of the amygdala / Get  massaged,The results are fairly clear that massage boosts your serotonin by as much as 30 percent

Climb up the stairs cheerfully, climb down the stairs cheerfully - Murat ildan

One day Thomas Edison came home and gave a paper to his mother. He told her, “My teacher gave this paper to me and told me to only give it to my mother.”

His mother’s eyes were tearful as she read the letter out loud to her child: Your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have enough good teachers for training him. Please teach him yourself.

After many, many years, after Edison’s mother died and he was now one of the greatest inventors of the century, one day he was looking through old family things. Suddenly he saw a folded paper in the corner of a drawer in a desk. He took it and opened it up.

On the paper was written: Your son is addled [mentally ill]. We won’t let him come to school any more.

Edison cried for hours and then he wrote in his diary: Thomas Alva Edison was an addled child that, by a hero mother, became the genius of the century

Moral : Never Give up

Remember –  Be it life, sports, career or anything .Battles must always be won twice
– FIRST Inside the HEAD -

A deaf frog ultimately reached the pole

Even then he continued with his photoshops
One day, a group of frogs decided to make a race and get to the top of a high tower.

A lot of people came to see them and give them their support, but the race had just begun and everybody was already saying that the frogs would not get there: « It doesn’t make any sense going on! You’ll never reach the top of the tower! »

Little by little, the frogs felt disappointed and discouraged, except for one of them that continued to run. And everybody cried out: « Give up! Give up! You’ll never get to the top! » Listening repeatedly to these negative words led the frogs to abandon the race after all, except for the one frog that, despite what people were saying, and though alone and with great pain, continued to run and finally reached the top.

Deeply astonished, the other frogs wanted to know how she had managed to do it. They came to her and asked her what her secret was.

And it was then that they found out that… she was deaf!

Take a healthy life attitude: Never to listen to people who are negative in their intentions. Be deaf to discouraging words and always follow your dreams to the end.
